about the hot yoga studio
baby, we were born to glow
our story
The Hot Yoga Studio was founded by Anna Leckey in Hillsborough in 2024, after years of teaching in studios across Belfast and further afield.
Anna grew up in Hillsborough and wanted to create something closer to home: a place where people could practise regularly, feel part of a community and experience the physical and mental benefits she has found through hot yoga herself.
Anna first discovered hot yoga as a teenager and trained as a teacher in 2015. What keeps her coming back is not just the heat, but the focus it creates. When the room is warm and the practice is strong, there is less space for the outside world to creep in. You breathe, move, concentrate and, for a while, everything else can wait.
What began as a small studio has grown into a welcoming local community, and now The Hot Yoga Studio has moved into a larger space of its own, creating more room for classes, workshops, recovery, connection and whatever comes next.
our new studio
More space. More classes. More ways to feel good.
Our new Hillsborough studio gives us the freedom to expand the timetable, welcome more people into each class and create a space that is about more than simply arriving, practising and heading home.
Alongside the larger yoga studio, there will be a coffee area, showers, sauna and community space, somewhere to pause, recover and connect before or after class.
Having a dedicated home also means we can introduce more varied sessions throughout the week, from regular hot yoga and workshops to ideas such as Mini Mornings and Post-Parkrun Stretch.
It is still The Hot Yoga Studio you know just with more room to breathe, sweat and stay awhile.
our team
Every teacher leading our hot classes is hot-yoga qualified. That matters to us. Teaching safely and confidently in a heated environment requires specific training and experience, and while our teachers each bring their own personality and style to the room, they share the same strong foundation in hot-yoga practice.
Anna Leckey
Founder & Hot Yoga Teacher
Anna trained as a hot yoga teacher in 2015 but her own practice began years before when she was a teenager. Hot yoga is the style of yoga Anna loves most: she finds the heat creates a particular kind of focus where you have to pay attention to your breath, your movement and what is happening in the moment. The result can be both physically demanding and surprisingly calming.
Her classes are strong but encouraging, with plenty of emphasis on working with the body you have that day rather than chasing perfection.
Alongside hot yoga, Anna is also qualified to teach Yin Yoga, Kids Yoga, Toddler Yoga, Yoga for ASD, Intermediate Hatha Yoga and Rocket Yoga, giving her a broad base of experience to draw on across classes and workshops.
After years of teaching elsewhere, opening The Hot Yoga Studio in her home village gave Anna the chance to build the kind of community she had always wanted: friendly, local, unpretentious and serious about good yoga without taking itself too seriously.
